I haven't been much in the mood for blogging, lately. I haven't even been in the mood to take any pictures to do blog posts about. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I've been trying to get things figured out for the coming weeks. So far, it's very slow-going, but not through any fault of my own. Nor is it my husband's fault. The Air Force is in no hurry to help us figure out what is going on. My husband has receive three sets of orders and no one can tell him which ones are actually accurate. It is quite frustrating because our time is growing shorter and shorter and we would like to get things ready as soon as possible. With the given situation, we can't do anything until we know which set of orders are the right ones. What is even more frustrating is no matter how hard my husband tries to get answers, no one takes him seriously because of his rank. He has to have someone higher-ranking go with him whenever he tries to get any information. Brett has definitely been given the run-around and there's nothing he can do about it. The Air Force treats us well for the most part, but it's things like this that make me wish we weren't at the disposal of the military.
All in all, let's just say that if I had any hair left, I'd be pulling it out right now.
That's all.

Garbage Day!
Today is garbage day, as is every Wednesday, so I thought I would start a little tradition. Every Wednesday, I'm going to blog about a few things that I think should go out with the trash. Everybody clear? Good!
#1 item: Green eyebrows.
#4 item:
That's it for Garbage Day Wednesdays! What do you think needs to go out with the trash?
Stay tuned for my next new tradition, "Friday Favorites!"
#1 item: Green eyebrows.
This is what they looked like after I took them off. If that's not green, I don't know what is.
Yes, you read me right. I said "green eyebrows." I've posted about my eyebrows before. I received my usual a couple of days ago and the color seemed a little "off." They definitely weren't their usual color. I don't know if the company just had a bad batch and thought they could pawn them off as normal, but they clearly weren't.
#2 item: Nasty, unseasonably-cold weather.
Awww, my window is crying, it's so depressing out there...
It's yucky outside. Very dreary and I wish it would have gone away with the garbage this morning.
#3 item: John Gosselin.
I'm tired of hearing about this guy and the ways he has reverted back to his adolescence. This guy is definitely trash.
#4 item:
Rabbits. I'm tired of them pooping on my porch, my driveway, and any other flat surface in my yard. They sooooo need to go.

I hate being sick
I'm definitely coming down with something, and I don't like it. Not one. little. bit. I guess it was my turn, but why now?! My mom is coming into town on Monday and I don't want to be out of commission for any part of our time together. Starting tomorrow, in an attempt to get better, I'm going to be MIA this weekend, taking it easy, doing everything I can to rid myself of whatever is ailing me. That may mean lots of blog time, or it may mean I will be a no-show. We'll see how it goes.

Reality Kicking In
I just returned from a 10-day vacation in Utah. It's been my third vacation of that duration or longer this summer. I've determined that vacations that long aren't as enjoyable when you've had so many in succession. I've loved being with my family, don't get me wrong. It's the traveling part that has killed me. Six 8-hour drives are not fun, regardless of whether you have to drive with two small kids or not.
Having said that, I've determined that it takes roughly 36 hours before reality begins to set in again. The first 24 hours, I'm glad to be home, back in my familiar surroundings, where I don't have to worry about where my kids are or what they're doing. The next 12 hours are filled with getting the house back in order and getting back in the routine we lost during those 10+ days. After that, I realize all this is why I wanted to go out-of-town in the first place! I'm sure it will be another 36 hours before the shock of reality wears off and I will be resigned to the fact that I really do like being home. :-)

It's that time of year
Once I year, my hair situation really bothers me and gets me down. It really is once a year, I've noticed. This time around, I was actually able to go almost a whole year and a half before getting discouraged.
Within the last couple of weeks, I've noticed my eyelashes getting thinner. I thought it might be the typical "molting" that happens a few times a year and nothing to be too concerned about. Well, now that that "molting" is now a complete bald spot at the end of my right eye (and getting bigger by the day), I'm very discouraged. It's not an easy fix. Fake eyelashes suck. It has been hard enough dealing with the eyebrow situation, and don't get me started on the whole "wearing wigs since 2003" thing. My thoughts have gone from "At least I have my eyebrows and eyelashes. I can still pull off 'normal,'" to "I'm lucky I still have my eyelashes. At least you don't notice my fake eyebrows too much." But now, I don't know what to think. I just want my hair back! If even for just a little while.
I'm looking into treatments again for what feels like the one-millionth time. It's hard to know what to try 'cause I feel like I've tried all of them. I guess I should start at the beginning again, huh?
Also, please forgive this pity-party post. I just have to get this off my chest and I should be good for at least another year.

The last time I had hair.
If you look closely, though, you'll see that the road to baldness is already starting there in that little patch, smack-dab on the top of my head. My wedding pictures will forever be a reminder of what has now come to pass.

(I had turned the comments off because I didn't want anyone feeling like they had to try to make me feel better about this whole situation. Some of you sillies decided to leave those comments on other posts. You, sillies. Thank you for your sweet words, though, truly.) :-)

Scrubs

Nope, sorry. I can't take it anymore. You are dead to me. Last night was the final straw. How could you let this happen? I hung in there when you decided to have a specific "agenda" for each episode in season 6. I took pity on you when you felt like you had to "kill off" Laverne to prove a point. I was a little grossed out when Turk and JD's relationship got went from best friends to a "bromance", but I worked through it. I even looked the other way when you decided to change networks. I could go on and on about the things I have let slide, but no more. No more! No more will I care what happens to your silly characters. Last night, when I watched Turk and Carla bring up the same joke that was told over 4 seasons ago (in regards to some sort of mermaid encounter), that was the last straw. There's nothing to hold me in anymore. I mean, come on! Who are these writers?! How lazy can you be to recycle a classic moment from a previous season?! Scrubs, you're time has come. I hope you have a great life and maybe somewhere, somehow these lame-o seasons will make it into syndication.
Love, Amber (and Brett, too)

Vanity
Wow, I was just looking over my posts lately, and I sound like a very superficial person. I mean, what am I thinking? Hair...makeup...exercise...tanning... I'm really not a vain person. I guess I'm just working on feeling better about myself. In a small way, I think I have been feeling better. I've lost the majority of my "baby weight" and now I'm just working on the little things. I can't control the flabby belly with stretch marks, but I'm trying to do things that will help me focus on what I can control and feel good about. I've still got a long way to go, I guess, but the important thing to me is I'm trying. It makes me feel like I'm accomplishing SOMETHING. Plus, I feel like I owe it to Brett not to look like this quite yet:
